For the Arnsdorf x RMIT collaboration project, a capsule collection was designed for SS23 called ‘Returning Home’. It explores personal definitions of home, that of the bush and farmland of South-East Queensland surrounded by native Australian wildlife. The S/S 2023 ‘Returning Home’ collection speaks of escaping the city and returning to small country towns, supporting a nurturing, relaxing and wholesome break from the grueling years of inner city lockdown. Sustainability is an important part of this collection, not only in the strong use of the well known and easily cared for material organic cotton, but through the concept of modularity. ‘Returning Home’ features well considered garments that can be changed and transformed, fulfilling many purposes and lengthening the overall lifecycle of the garment. The pieces within this collection are designed to reflect the safe, supportive, treasured feeling of returning home.
